Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
John 4:10
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
Stream in the Wilderness
What are you thinking right now? I can almost guarantee that it is not as profound as what God has going on. Some people look at the scripture from Isaiah and become depressed because they reach the conclusion that they can never measure up to all God wants. The question then is posited, “Are we doomed to wander around in the wilderness of our circumstances or can we find the life-giving stream that God has placed for us in this life.”
When we recognize that He is God and He is in control of everything that happens then we have come to the stream.
Once you have arrived at the stream (recognize the God is who He says He is); the next questions are critical.
Will we let God be God?
Will we drink of the richness of the life that He offers, or will we refuse to drink from the stream (the richness of a personal relationship with God)?
The choice is yours; He will not force you to drink – but you could spend an eternity regretting that you did not.
