Guidelines and Fact Sheet for visiting Pastor-Teachers

Prior to considering a trip to Nutrioso Bible Church all traveling Pastor-Teachers should visit www.americanmissionaryfellowship.org and read their Statement of Faith. We will need to know there is doctrinal harmony between what you will teach and what we believe.

Nutrioso Bible Church is a small rural congregation located in Apache County, Arizona, in the heart of the beautiful Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. The church is right on Arizona State Route 191, approximately 15 miles south of Springerville/Eager and approximately 10 miles north of Alpine, Arizona. As the crow flies we are approximately 10 miles west of the New Mexico border. We are approximately a 5 hour drive from Phoenix, Tucson or Albuquerque. The church is located at the base of the third highest mountain in Arizona, Escudilla Peak at 10,912 feet above sea level. Internet sites you may want visit for local area information are www.alpinearizona.com or www.springerville.com.

The area has long been a favorite summer destination for many Phoenicians and Tucsonians who have second homes in the area and is currently experiencing a strength growth curve.

The church and accompanying parsonage sit on 12 acres of high mountain meadow grasslands. The parsonage is a clean and comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom modular home that has been permanently anchored and skirted. In this transitional period without a full time Pastor we are welcoming anyone coming up to fill the pulpit to please feel welcome to stay awhile and make yourselves at home in the parsonage. Take the time to take in the scenery, breathe in the clean high mountain air, visit the community, do some fishing, hiking, mountain biking or just relax. The parsonage has no TV or telephone at this time. Cell phone coverage in the immediate area is very limited. The parsonage has a fully equipped kitchen; refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and clothes washer and dryer. The cupboards are stocked with pots, pans, cups, most necessary cooking utensils and flatware. We do not keep food on hand, please bring what ever you plan on eating and take with you whatever you don’t finish. Furnishings include a queen size bed, 2 couches and 1 small child’s futon. There is plenty of room to spread sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses or cots. The Queen size bed will have clean linens on it when you arrive and the bathrooms do have some towels, though many people have been bringing their own towels and linens. We try to keep a supply of bathroom tissue and paper towels on hand. The closest significant grocery store is in Springerville/Eager, as you pass through you may want to stop there to finalize any shopping that is needed. In fact there isn’t even a convenience store once you leave Springerville/Eager. If you are arriving late, stop and eat in the same town, as once you head south on 191 there will be no place to dine-out unless you headed all the way down to Alpine. Upon leaving the parsonage we would ask that you would please clean the kitchen and bathrooms and take all perishable foods with you. We will complete the cleaning for the next party during that week.

Our parsonage water well does tend to develop a sulphur odor in the water when it is only being used occasionally, most repeat visitors bring sufficient bottled drinking and cooking water for what they have planned.

Our Sunday School Class, is usually handled by one of our local members and starts @ 9:45am. The Worship Service starts @ 11:00am.

Thank You and may God Bless your efforts on the behalf of His Kingdom.
